Art Tree exhibited two artists from Rajasthan – Shri Mahaveer Swami, master artist of Bikaner School of miniatures and Yugdeepak Soni practicing Pichwai art. The show was held at Bikaner House, New Delhi from 20th September, 2021–27th September, 2021. It was one of the first big shows post-Covid and hence, attracted great footfall.
Shri Mahaveer Swami is the only practising Bikaner school of miniatures artist. A master, his works have nostalgia and a story. Mahaveer Swami is one of the finest traditional artists working in India today. His ethereal colours and exquisite brushwork are combined with unique inner vision and great sensitivity of the world around him by tempering his personal vision with finely tuned technique and rigorous discipline of his tradition.
Yugdeepak Soni is a young representative of a traditional painter family from Rajasthan. He trained with the senior artists in his family who work under the guardianship of the master, Shilp Guru Shri Badri Lal Chitrakar. Yugdeepak learnt the details and nuances of almost all the styles in India and is keen on keeping the aesthetics of the tradition alive.
